Besides the
magnificent corals, sponges and anemones, commonly seen creatures in The Turks and Caicos include; sea turtles,
manta rays, eagle rays, mahi-mahi, barracuda, jacks, parrot fish, drums, atlantic
spadefish, short nosed batfish, grouper, snapper, grunts, squirrelfish, lobster, spider
crabs, moray eels, octopuses, shellfish, reef sharks, bull sharks, whale sharks,
hammerheads, humpback whales.
The deep water trenches,
thousands of feet deep, come very near to the Islands at Grand Turk, Provo and West
Caicos. The coral reefs stretch out from the shore, sloping until they meet the
turquoise blue. These dramatic underwater cliffs or walls combined with crystal clear
visibility, create sensational diving conditions.
Turks and Caicos ocean water temperatures at
the surface are between 82°F to 78°F in the winter months, perfect for swimming and
snorkelling.

Snorkeling:
Our shallow reefs offer excellent and exciting snorkelling relatively close to shore. Some
favorite sites
are easily accessible from the beach. While you can snorkel anywhere, you will see
the most interesting creatures over coral heads, darker areas in the water, and along
jetties. Your dive or excursion operator can direct you to our most popular snorkel sites.
